Hi! We are Krissy & Ben Harclerode (pronounced Har-cul-road). WE collect passport stamps & CREATE PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE OF ADVENTURE. ON THE RODE is more of a play on our LAST name than it is a LITERAL fact, as we are not your typical "travel photographers". We have not sold everything we own, permanently on the road, seeing over 20 countries a year. We are small business owners who have learned how to fit travel & photo into busy lives, cost effectively. hopefully we can help you do the same.
Our individual lives, & especially our life together, have been incredibly enriched NOT ONLY by travel, BUT BY DOCUMENTING OUR ADVENTURES & sharing stories. We want nothing more than to share our discoveries of the world, with the world. We have spent a lot of time on the road & we love to use photography to share BOTH THE JOURNEY & THE DESTINATION, to provoke adventure in others.
OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE... WE HOPE TO INSPIRE & EMPOWER YOU TO LIVE A LIFE FULL OF ADVENTURE & A LIFE WELL TRAVELED
Above, you got a little taste for why we started this passion project & why it's important to us. Now we would like to introduce ourselves.
As you already know, we are Krissy & Ben.
We are dog parents to Keaton & Ernie, who are the reason we always keep our trips under two weeks.
we are also parents to 47 house plants.
We are not home owners, as international travel is still at the forefront of our financial priority list.
We love getting up early to get the perfect shot.
We notoriously overspend on gas station snacks.
we own a tesla because we love the environment, which has substantially helped our gas station snack problem.
We do a lot of shitty karate.
We proudly support the LGTBQ community.
we started a nonprofit organization in 2018 to help recovering addicts/alcoholics.
WE WANT TO RETIRE IN ICELAND.
Our first date was a 45mi backpacking trip through Glacier National Park backcountry in 2016. We tied the knot two years & one day later. In between those dates, we built a business together, which has created the freedom for us to see the world together.
We are not full time travel bloggers. We are not professional photographers. This is simply A passion that we want to share & extend to other travelers.
